Abstract In 2016, a group of experts convened to set priorities for organic phosphorus (P) research, addressing global issues, methodological strengths and weaknesses, the benefits understanding P cycle. Seven years later, scientists students with an interest in reconvened discuss progress new insights, this review highlights recent major research updates. Interest has increased since have emerged, including impact climate change on P, influence geopolitical crises supplies, adoption sustainable practices like regenerative agriculture. Climate was central theme 2023 discussions, emphasis integrating especially into which traditionally focused more carbon (C) nitrogen (N). The discussions highlighted disparities accessing analytical equipment globally, its consequent quality scope. To address these coordinated efforts involving community, government policies, international cooperation are needed, much same as we see biodiversity crises. Promoting agricultural practices, investing soil health, enhancing education extension services crucial. Future should focus standardizing methods, nutrient balance models, exploring soil-microbiome-plant interactions. Regular intedisciplinary workshops, social media engagement, establishment networks recommended maintain momentum research. Raising public stakeholder awareness about importance is essential advancing knowledge area.
