Human listeriosis is a foodborne disease caused by Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Most cases occur due to consumption of ready-to-eat (RTE) foods. Stewed meat in seasoning, type pre-packaged food, popular traditional product China. We used whole genome sequencing analyze core multilocus sequence typing (cgMLST), serogroups and (ST) 67 L. isolates. The serogroup IIb-ST5 was predominantly isolated from different sources linked stewed seasoning Brand A, B, C with <7 allelic differences cgMLST, suggesting that this kind food may be high-risk causing sporadic listeriosis. Furthermore, isolates batches products processed the same processing plant had <5 five differences, confirming contamination occurred during manufacture. Additionally, 16 Plant A were clone (0 difference), which confirmed strong ability survive environment. Thus, increased frequent monitoring, as well constant technical support for control plants necessary.

Traditional and regional foods have been increasing in popularity among consumers Poland for many years. The observed trend of searching natural authentic taste encourages producers to craft products from raw milk, including Koryciński cheeses. aim this study was assess the microbiological hazards resulting presence pathogenic bacteria cheeses available retail trade. tests were carried out using accredited methods, detection Salmonella spp., enumeration Listeria monocytogenes, coagulase-positive staphylococci, staphylococcal enterotoxins food when number staphylococci sample exceeded limit 105 cfu/g. research material consisted 45 conducted revealed that spp. not detected any examined However, present 68.9% samples. In as 15 tested cheeses, level S. aureus contamination above cfu/g; therefore, these samples enterotoxins. found one cheese. four L. monocytogenes 102 cfu/g, specified Regulation 2073/2005 on criteria foodstuffs. obtained results confirm validity monitoring quality need increase awareness ensuring proper hygienic conditions production, increased risk associated with unpasteurized milk products.

Listeria monocytogenes poses a threat to both human and animal health. This work describes an L. outbreak in Portuguese rabbit farm, detailing the isolates’ clinical manifestations, necropsy findings, phenotypic genomic profiles. Clinical signs, exclusively observed does, included lethargy reproductive signs. Post-mortem examination of does revealed splenomegaly, hepatomegaly with reticular pattern, pulmonary congestion, haemorrhagic lesions uterus, thickening uterine wall purulent greyish exudates. Positive samples were identified fattening maternity units across different samples, encompassing environmental samples. Core-genome Multi Locus Sequence Typing (cgMLST) analysis confirmed outbreak, 16 sequenced isolates (lineage II, CC31, ST325) clustering within ≤2 allelic difference (AD) threshold. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing for five antibiotics that 15 out 19 resistant sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim (SXT). Concordantly, all SXT-resistant found harbour plasmid containing trimethoprim-resistance gene (dfrD), along loci linked resistance lincosamides (lnuG), macrolides (mphB), polyether ionophores (NarAB operon). All carried antibiotic resistance-related genes tetM, fosX, lin, norB, lmrB, sul, mprF. The cluster comprises from environment, which underscores ubiquitous presence emphasizes importance biosecurity measures. Despite limited data on listeriosis farming, this reveals its significant impact welfare production.
