Abstract Aflatoxins are potent carcinogens and pose significant risks to food safety public health worldwide. include Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), B2 (AFB2), G1 (AFG1), G2 (AFG2), M1 (AFM1). AFB1 is particularly notorious for its carcinogenicity, classified as a Group 1 human carcinogen by the International Agency Research on Cancer (IARC). Chronic exposure aflatoxins through contaminated feed can lead liver cancer, immunosuppression, growth impairment, other systemic issues. Efforts mitigate aflatoxin contamination have traditionally relied chemical treatments, physical separation methods, biological degradation. However, these approaches often challenges related safety, efficacy, impact quality. Recently, cold plasma treatment has emerged promising alternative. Cold generates reactive oxygen species, which effectively degrade surfaces without compromising nutritional integrity or safety. This review consolidates current research advancements in detoxification, highlighting potential of technology revolutionize practices. By exploring mechanisms toxicity, evaluating existing detoxification discussing principles applications treatment. Graphical

The effectiveness of multi-targeted treatments including pulsed electric field (PEF), soursop leaf extract (SLE), vacuum impregnation (VI), and modified atmosphere packaging (MAP), with without cold plasma (CP) treatment, on the quality shelf life Pacific white shrimp (Penaeus vannamei) during refrigerated storage for 21 days was investigated. PEF inhibited melanosis reduced initial bacterial load, as evidenced by lower scores total counts in treated samples. Integrating 1% SLE through VI effectively lowered color alteration, retarded melanosis, preserved textural integrity SLE-treated samples (p < 0.05). SLE1 (1%) significantly lipid oxidation, witnessed thiobarbituric acid reactive substances 0.05) minimal fatty profile changes. MAP3, comprising CO2/N2/Ar (60%/30%/10%), combined CP ensured microbiological maintained viable count within acceptable limit (6 Log CFU/g) throughout time days. Notably, PEF-SLE1-VI-MAP3-CP sample exhibited superior preservation, shown a pH volatile base content than others. Sensory evaluation confirmed that remained sensorially storage. Thus, this multi-hurdle approach demonstrated synergistic potential integrating nonthermal processing technologies plant extracts, contributing to extended safety up
