Traumatic stress exposure has been identified as a robust risk factor for atypical cognitive development in childhood. While most research focuses on neurological mechanisms underpinning these relationships, peer influences may also provide social mechanism. The present study examined deviant association mediator this regard within the context of dual systems model childhood and adolescence. Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development data were analyzed. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze direct indirect effects interest. Findings indicated that traumatic predicted diminished impulse control, but did not predict sensation-seeking. Deviant significantly mediated relationship between accounting about 25% relationship. Implications are discussed.

Abstract Executive functions can be conceptualised as either a set of higher-order cognitive skills that enable us to engage in flexible thinking and regulate our thoughts behaviours, or the ability integrate knowledge, beliefs, values when applying control everyday situations. These two perspectives map onto ways which executive function is measured childhood – using structured laboratory tasks ratings behaviours. Differences functioning are associated with neurodevelopmental differences, but evidence for associations between specific profiles conditions mixed. In this study, we adopt data-driven approach identify common transdiagnostic sample 566 neurodivergent children, both performance rating-based measures function. Three were identified: one had consistent difficulties across types assessments, while other inconsistent predominantly rating- task-based difficulties. Abstract Recent research has indicated that deviant peers may play a role in cognitive development. This is particularly the case for dual systems model, key framework understanding engagement antisocial behavior during adolescence and emerging adulthood. However, limited examined how preexisting mental health concerns moderate these relationships. study used Pathways to Desistance data examine attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) as moderator of relationships between peer association model constructs. Generalized estimating equations were test Results presence ADHD both predicted increased sensation-seeking lower impulse control. significantly moderated relationship control, indicating weaker impact on control among participants with ADHD. No significant interaction was observed sensation-seeking.

Abstract The aim of the conducted research was to examine contribution predictor variables (depression, anxiety and stress) in predicting criterion procrastination. pertinent sample adolescents (N =126) included junior karatekas age 16 18 (M = 17.5, SD .83). Two measuring instruments were used: General Procrastination Scale (Lay, 1986) Depression, Anxiety Stress (Lovibond & Lovibond, 1995).Correlation analysis has determined that there are statistically significant positive linear connections between dimensions psychological distress. model hierarchical regression revealed group accounts for 12% total variance Only determinant depression (ß .41, p ≤ .01) had maximum relevant partial variability calculated beta coefficient indicates a higher degree adolescent intensifies their On other hand, shown independent stress do not significantly interact with criterion, therefore cannot predict dependent variable procrastination karatekas. obtained results constructs examined this have theoretical practical implications explaining Key words: distress, karate, procrastination, adolescent, athletes
