Background:
Today,
computer
games
have
taken
a
prominent
place
in
the
lives
of
children
and
teenagers,
statistics
indicate
that
online
gaming
constitutes
majority
usage.
Numerous
studies
explored
detrimental
effects
internet
on
individuals.
However,
to
date,
no
comprehensive
research
has
been
conducted
specifically
investigating
effect
academic
performance
within
medical
education
context.
To
address
this
gap,
we
study,
focusing
impact
Iranian
students.
Methods:
In
cross-sectional
185
students
from
four
disciplines
((basic
sciences,
Physiopathology,
extern,
intern)
were
selected
through
multi-stage
sampling
method
at
Mashhad
University
Medical
Sciences.
Internet
disorder
(IGD)
test
as
well
grade
point
average
(GPA)
last
semester,
study
hours
normal
days
near
exam,
efficiency
hours,
number
failed
semesters,
satisfaction
assessed.
Results:
total
participated,
which
62.2%
(115
students)
females.
The
prevalence
IGD
was
found
be
3.8%.
Interestingly,
approximately
times
higher
males
than
females
(7.1%
vs.
1.7%,
P=0.106).
Furthermore,
both
overall
daily
time
(P<0.001)
exams
(P=0.031)
significantly
without
compared
those
with
IGD.

Introduction:
Internet
addiction
is
currently
a
recognized
health
as
well

issue
among
adolescents.
This
study
was

designed

assess
