Alveolar ridge preservation (ARP) limits dimensional changes in alveolar bone after extraction. This study aims to evaluate tissue response biphasic-calcium-phosphate ceramics (BCP) with different hydration methodologies used for ARP. Sixty patients willing treatment were randomly allocated into two test groups and control. Test group-1 (n = 20) received graft hydrated saline ARP, whereas group-2 blood. In control 20), extraction sockets allowed heal without further intervention. Clinically (mesial height-MRH, distal height-DRH, width-RW) radiologically (Apico-coronal dimension-ACD) parameters recorded at baseline four months. Bone collected using trephine burs months was evaluated semi-quantitatively terms of histological immunohistochemical assess osteopontin (OPN) expression all groups. Based on the normality assumption MRH, DRH, RW ACD compared by a paired-t make comparison between initial 4-month values. The Kruskal-Wallis determine mean difference showed significant decrease (1.4 mm, p < 0.05), gain MRH (0.3 > 0.05) (0.775 loss DRH (1.5 vertical mesially (1.2 distally (0.74 but (0.21 (1.37 0.05). Immunohistochemistry analysis revealed newly formed bone, residual material well-vascularized uninflamed connective tissue. OPN significantly higher (p Our findings demonstrate that ARP BCP may depict horizontally vertically. highlights significance method clinically, histologically.

Demineralized Dentin Matrix (DDM) is derived from discarded human teeth and has a micro-nano structure with porous network. Its dentinal tubules are rich in various enzymes, antimicrobial peptides, cytokines such as BMP, IGFs, TGF - β, VEGF, IGF, etc., which can guide cells the alveolar fossa to grow into extraction socket form new bone, used for reconstruction of periodontal bone defects. DDM particles have advantages wide source, no immune rejection, simple production process, low cost. As ideal material, it expected become substitute traditional materials on transplantation. In this paper, different methods strategies regeneration defects were summarized, replacement combined barrier membrane, autologous blood clot, derivatives PRF CGF, other novel biological materials. Then, physicochemical properties granules, improved manufacturing process research status caused by periodontitis reviewed. Finally, limitations application future direction development proposed, order expect more evidence-based medical evidence clinical DDM.

Abstract Background The proposed technique utilizes the osteoconductive regenerative properties of bone‐substitute materials (BSMs) and space‐maintaining function titanium mesh to restore alveolar ridge at extraction sites with lost labial plates in a single procedure. This approach may reduce need for extensive augmentation procedures, shorten treatment duration, minimize complications, potentially lower overall costs patients. Methods Both patients presented hopeless dentition, characterized by chronic infection loss plates. To regenerate ridge, was utilized combination layered application xenograft allograft BSMs. success this depended on stabilization, thorough site debridement, absence soft‐tissue tension. Results effectively restored regenerated sufficient bone accommodate dental implants. Significant regeneration achieved both cases, minimal complications. In one case, minor exposure occurred; however, it did not affect healing managed during re‐entry surgery. Conclusion It represents novel preservation plates, even presence infection. However, future studies sound methodology, larger sample sizes, long follow‐up periods are recommended validate these findings. Key points Mesh‐Assisted Regenerated Site (MARS) restores combining substitutes augmentation, long‐term costs. depends minimally traumatic extraction, meticulous socket careful soft tissue management, precise placement under optimal magnification. Although effective, has limitations, including potential vertical loss, time‐consuming possible additional occasional challenges retrieval, risk, all which compromise implant success. Proper case selection essential mitigate optimize clinical outcomes. Plain language summary When teeth removed, surrounding can shrink. Background: Alveolar preservation techniques for esthetic or functional purposes, both, are a frequently used alternative the treatment of post-extraction sockets, aim which is regeneration lesion and alveolar bone crest. Methods: Studies published in PubMed (Medline), Web Science, Embase, Cochrane Library databases up to January 2024 were consulted. Inclusion criteria established as intervention studies, according PICOs strategy: adult subjects undergoing dental extractions (participants), with alveoli treated mineral grafts collagen membranes (intervention), compared spontaneous healing (comparison), observing response clinical radiological measures crest (outcomes). Results: We obtained 561 results selected 12 studies. Risk bias was assessed using Bias Tool, methodological quality Joanna Briggs Institute. Due high heterogeneity studies (I2 > 75%), random-effects meta-analysis used. Despite trend, no statistical significance (p 0.05) found experimental groups. Conclusions: The use combination resorbable barriers provides greater ridge, although more needed.
