This narrative review delves into the complexities of anorexia nervosa (AN), focusing on its unique manifestations within diverse contexts, particularly in cancer patients. Following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, a systematic approach was employed via electronic databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar. Various studies have summarized emerging signaling pathways bidirectional associations between disorders, therapeutic modalities acupuncture. Emphasis is placed importance family support, psychoeducation, early intervention patients with highlighting integral role improving outcomes. In conclusion, this offers valuable insights intricate nature providing basis future research clinical efforts to refine targeted article broad overview serving resource those interested manifestations.

Background/Objectives: Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a complex psychiatric disorder characterized by an extreme fear of gaining weight, leading to severe calorie restriction and weight loss. Beyond its challenges, AN has significant physical consequences affecting multiple organ systems. Recent research increasingly focused on the interplay between autoantibodies, oxidative stress, nutritional state in this condition. Methods: Ninety-six subjects were evaluated: forty-eight with normal-weight control subjects. The serum levels IgG reactive hypothalamic antigens, uric acid, total antioxidant capacity evaluated laboratory assays. Results: Anti-hypothalamic autoantibodies found patients. Furthermore, increased stress reported, as measured decreased acid (TAC), they reduced disease duration restoration body mass index (BMI). Finally, decrease both was observed patients' clinical condition improved, time since diagnosis BMI recovery. Conclusions: improvement patients seems be associated autoimmune response cellular antigens reduction stress. Dysregulation immune system appear interconnected various diseases, including disorders. These findings, although preliminary, may offer potential avenues for treatment challenging
