Notwithstanding the documented short- and long-term weight loss remission of physical mental diseases following bariatric surgery, a significant proportion patients fail to respond (fully) treatment in terms health improvement. Mounting evidence links food-specific impulsivity, prefrontal cortex (PFC) hypoactivity disrupted hormone secretion surgery candidates poorer post-surgical outcomes.
