Background and Objectives: Cardiovascular diseases are prevalent entities, especially in emergency patients. Arterial stiffness is a known predictor of cardiovascular risk mortality quantified by carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity (cfPWV). It caused part vascular calcification, but exact details the underlying mechanisms yet to be elucidated, current data suggest endocrine influences. This study thus aimed assess associations parameters, particularly thyroid parathyroid hormones, calcium, inorganic phosphate, vitamin D, with cfPWV as surrogate for arterial stiffness. Materials Methods: Adults presenting single tertiary care department Vienna between 2018 2023 were prospectively enrolled. CfPWV was measured non-invasively, levels hormones 25-hydroxyvitamin phosphate assessed. Results: In total, from 827 patients, predominantly male (57%) around 60 (47–72) years age, We observed significant worsening increasing hormone (p < 0.001) TSH = 0.03). No influences or D observed. Conclusions: Thyroid associated suggesting need comprehensive workup patients at because comorbidities age. Additional prospective studies needed further elucidate role endocrinology subsequent relevance medicine.
