Native distribution, introductions and risk screening of Sander lucioperca (Linnaeus 1758) in the freshwater ecosystems of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Abstract Pike-perch Sander lucioperca is a native species originally present in the Black Sea basin of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 1990s, it was introduced to Neretva River its reservoir system, since 2009 has been recorded Lake Boračko Buško Blato Reservoir. The aim this study analyse distribution S. Herzegovina based on literature data (1975–2024) define areas where order assess risk potential invasiveness. results indicate that belongs high-risk category. Since same ranking confirmed recent studies aquatic ecosystems other geographical areas, conclusion pike-perch could soon pose threat if mitigation measures are not implemented.
