Fungicides are an essential component of current agricultural practices, but their extensive use has raised concerns about effects on non-target soil microorganisms, which carry out ecosystem functions. However, despite the complexity microbial communities, many studies investigating response to fungicides focus only bacteria or fungi at one point in time. In this study, we used amplicon sequencing assess effect fungicide hymexazol diversity, composition, and co-occurrence network bacteria, fungi, protists 7, 21, 60 days after application. We found that had very little alpha-diversity, community composition OTU differential abundance were altered over duration experiment, even concentrations undetectable. The patterns within between kingdoms affected by dose, suggesting indirect may play a role response. Nitrogen cycling was also affected, with transient hymexazol-associated increase ammonia-oxidizing microorganisms nitrate concentration. These findings highlight dynamic extensive, spanning several taxonomic kingdoms.
