We evaluated growth, mortality, and resource utilization of burbot, Lota lota, in the upper reaches Heilongjiang River, China. The population has experienced significant decline, and, despite substantial recovery, concerns regarding management have arisen. A total 638 specimens collected from October 2022 to 2023 were used calculate relationship between body length weight, which ranged 107 529 mm 8.91 1474.17 g, respectively. FAO FiSAT II software was estimate parameters based on frequency distribution samples. calculated progressive value growth coefficient 551.25 0.16, natural mortality rate burbot is 0.31 a−1. Assuming a 0.41 a−1, estimated current exploitation 24.39%. Total biomass (94.76 t) maximum sustainable yield (14.69 length-structured virtual analysis. Burbot, fast-growing fish that well-suited ecology investigated area. research yielded suggestions for resources ensure preservation species, as well development local economy.
