Wellbore instability caused by the invasion of drilling fluids into formations remains a significant challenge in application oil-based (ODFs). In this study, carbon nanospheres (CNSs) were synthesized using glucose as source through microwave-assisted method. The effects reaction temperature, concentration, and time on particle size CNSs systematically investigated. results revealed that under optimal conditions, with an average 670 nm successfully synthesized, exhibiting high sphericity excellent dispersibility. demonstrated stable dispersion mineral oil when lecithin was used dispersant. plugging performance ODFs evaluated low-pressure filtration high-temperature, high-pressure (HTHP) tests. After aging at 180 °C for 16 h, addition 2% reduced volume from 10.6 mL to 2.5 standard filter paper (average pore size: 3 μm) 8.5 1.6 microporous membranes 0.5 μm). Additionally, HTHP decreased 73 18 mL, permeability cake formed during 26.5 × 10−3 mD 1.2 mD. Furthermore, improved rheological properties emulsion stability ODFs. With compatibility applicability, offer promising solution enhancing fluids.
