The incidence and mortality rate of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are increasing globally. HCC with inferior vena cava tumor thrombus (HCCIVCTT) represents an advanced stage the disease. Research suggests that for patients HCCIVCTT, liver resection combined thrombectomy is a safe feasible option can provide moderate survival benefit. aim this study was to evaluate application value multimodal transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) in perioperative period HCCIVCTT. TEE used routine intraoperative examination 17 determine location classification thrombi, guide proper placement occlusion band during surgery, whether completely removed postoperatively. Among thrombi invaded hepatic veins extended into cava, 3 cases extension right atrium. varied shape, size, echogenicity, high-velocity turbulent flow signals observed within occluded vessels. There were 10 type I, 4 II, III. Under guidance TEE, preocclusion bands successfully placed above I II patients, real-time dynamic monitoring showing no rupture or dislodgement postoperatively, appeared be removed. plays important role management It aid deterring thrombus, selecting suitable surgical method, postoperatively assessing completeness removal.
