Vaccine-preventable disease outbreaks and the spread of misinformation on vaccines throughout United States are growing public health problems. Marginalized vulnerable communities nationwide have seen a substantial rise in parental vaccine hesitancy that has negatively affected early childhood immunization rates, intensified healthcare disparities, decreased patient care outcomes. Advanced Practice Registered Nurses primarily work clinical settings, but these professionals can reach locally nationally by actively participating policy development. The following PICOT question guided objective this project: In population (P), how does development comprehensive recommendation addressing social determinants risks (I) compared to existing (C) improve vaccination rates as endorsed literature (O)? Johns Hopkins Evidence-Based model Centers for Disease Control (CDC) POLARIS Policy Process framework were utilized evaluate appraise current guide Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana review. review showed direct indirect outcomes, common themes, underlying causes, effective interventional strategies. A comparative analysis was conducted each southeastern state’s policies, including practice recommendations, guidelines, legislative regulatory frameworks. findings prompted recommendations included three tailored briefs aligned with best from CDC evidence-based literature. This project provided insight strategies through advocacy informed change.
