Background:
Periodontitis
is
a
chronic
infectious–inflammatory
pathology,

prevalence,

Objectives:
Our

was

systematic
reviews
meta-analyses

歯周炎は糖尿病と密接な関連があり,糖尿病合併症のような側面が知られている。主な糖尿病の慢性合併症ではインスリン抵抗性の発現が重要な要因となっている。歯周組織においても同様に,前糖尿病段階から血管内皮細胞に炎症が起き,歯肉にはインスリン抵抗性が生じていることが見出された。そして,高血糖による活性酸素種(ROS)産生などの酸化ストレスがインスリン抵抗性発現に関与し,細胞機能の低下や歯肉の創傷治癒遅延,歯周組織再生の悪化,インプラントのオッセオインテグレーションの悪化に関わっていることが示された。
