ABSTRACT Background Melasma is a common disease that difficult to treat, with no recognized animal model for mechanism research or drug screening. Objectives To develop novel, standardized mouse of melasma. Materials and Methods Three different strains mice (C57BL/6J, BALB/c, KM) were used create melasma‐like across various body regions. The skin the was removed on Day 28 subjected staining examine histopathological changes. Data analyzed using SPSS19.0 software. Results Compared KM BALB/c mice, C57BL/6J identified as ideal strain demonstrating hyperpigmentation more sensitively. head ear appropriate irradiation sites. Furthermore, lower dose determined be modeling. Conclusion accurately simulates clinical phenotype
