Ethical leadership is crucial in nursing management, and self-compassion increasingly recognized as a significant factor influencing nurses' job performance. Although the link between ethical nurse performance has been established, specific mechanisms that underlie this relationship remain unclear. Additionally, there paucity of research examining potential role context. This study aims to investigate self-compassion, leadership, while also validating mediating self-compassion. employed convenience sampling method conduct cross-sectional online survey involving 968 nurses from four tertiary-level hospitals Xi'an, China, conducted April May 2024. Participants completed self-report questionnaires included Leadership Scale, Self-Compassion Job Performance Scale. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis H rank sum Spearman correlation analysis, PROCESS tool within SPSS. The revealed positive (r = 0.631, p < 0.01), well 0.688, 0.01). found 0.564, Mediation indicated partially mediated overall impact on (β 0.680) comprised direct effect 0.499) an indirect by 0.181). accounted for 26.62% total effect. results indicate not only directly predicts but indirectly influences it enhancing their levels Consequently, managers should prioritize cultivation reinforcement styles fostering supportive environment promotes effective practices. Compassion is an important competence for nursing students, and it essential to identify factors that affect it, such as emotional intelligence fear of compassion. The purpose this study was examine the levels intelligence, compassion, compassion their association among students. A cross-sectional correlational carried out in faculty midwifery, Hamadan University Medical Sciences Iran. Data were collected via census sampling. sample 213 students participated, completing general information questionnaire, Wong Law Emotional Intelligence Scale, scale, scale. Statistical analysis performed using SPSS-24 software at a significance level less than 0.05. total mean scores found be 80.37 (15.36), 63.15 (22.09), 61.68 (7.47), respectively. Results multiple regression analyses indicate score (β = 0.191; p < 0.01) had positive significant influence on students' competence, whereas -0.213; negatively influenced competence.
