Abstract In classic and traditional data envelopment analysis (DEA) models, the production process is considered as single stage internal structures have been ignored. many real‐world occasions, however, processes two‐ or multi‐stage with without shared resources. Two‐stage DEA models deal calculation of technical efficiency a system, taking into consideration its structures. this contribution, we consider two‐stage in which both stages are fed by resources, there undesirable products from second stage. model will propose, an optimal split on resources given. To demonstrate applicability proposed approach, 40 bank branches seven years 2014–2020 presented. our real application banking sector, find out that most important sources inefficiency related to interest revenue overdue debt (undesirable output). Moreover, saw almost all were inefficient (sale service section) evaluation.

Abstract The objective of this study is to find out how airlines can reduce their inputs and provide appropriate passenger cargo capacity, thereby increasing traffic reducing CO 2 emissions. A network data envelopment analysis (DEA)–based Nash bargaining model developed incorporating intermediate products weakly disposable undesirable outputs applied a dataset 33 airline companies obtain the solution. According results, that are weak efficient or inefficient could establish targets attain efficiency through fair logical negotiation among inputs, products, good bad output. Appropriate policies need be implemented would improve airlines’ performance in terms improvement not only desirable along with but also regard environmental performance. This ensure sustainable growth

Abstract Today, production usually takes place in complex networks. An important question is how the efficiency of whole network related to that its units. Respective research on this topic has been strongly growing over past decades, as a rule using methods data envelopment analysis are known “network DEA”. However, there lack theoretical foundation allows clear statements be made for arbitrary structures and general, possibly non-convex or even discrete technologies. This paper develops an activity analytic approach modelling such general networks measuring their efficiency. Based work Koopmans embedding it into broader framework generic requires rather weak premises with regard technology simply composed from units subsystems. It shown relationship between subsystems depends extent which individual free choose input output quantities, i.e. whether loose tied. Especially cases where flows intermediate products constrained (instead freely disposable), explicit overproduction helps analyse influence scores. furthermore calculating overall score decision-making unit average scores inappropriate any case.

The main purpose of this study is to provide a comparative analysis several possible approaches applying data envelopment (DEA) in the case where some decision making units (DMUs) original sample have negative system outputs. In comparison traditional model Charnes, Cooper, and Rhodes (CCR) CCR with scale shift measure second-stage outputs, range directional (RDM) produces most appropriate results. paper, an approach proposed for estimating returns scale. applies two-stage DEA outputs assess public support research, development, demonstration projects energy sector 23 countries over period from 2010 2018. assessment government performance depends on its contribution growth efficiency national economy reduction carbon intensity. Intermediate (patents sector) are included as both first stage inputs second stage. Taking similarity between calculations obtained without separation adequacy, RDM shows highest scores.

The main aim of this research is to present an innovative method known as fuzzy network data envelopment analysis (FNDEA) in order assess the performance decision-making units (DMUs) that possess a two-stage structure while taking into account uncertainty data. To attain goal, we utilize various methodologies including non-cooperative game (leader-follower) NDEA method, concept Z-number, credibility theory, and chance-constrained programming (CCP) develop model for approach. FNDEA approach offers several advantages, such linearity presented models, ability rank DMUs situations ambiguity, provision unique efficiency decomposition uncertain environment, capability handle Z-information. demonstrate applicability effectiveness proposed approach, implement Z-number (ZNDEA) assessing Iranian private insurance companies. results implementation reveal ZNDEA suitable effective measuring ranking companies where ambiguity present.
