Abstract Human vagina is colonised by a diverse array of microorganisms that make up the normal microbiota and mycobiota. Lactobacillus most frequently isolated microorganism from healthy human vagina, this includes crispatus , gasseri iners jensenii . These vaginal lactobacilli have been touted to prevent invasion pathogens keeping their population in check. However, disruption ecosystem contributes overgrowth which causes complicated infections such as bacterial vaginosis (BV), sexually transmitted (STIs), vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC). Predisposing factors menses, pregnancy, sexual practice, uncontrolled usage antibiotics, douching can alter microbial community. Therefore, composition serves an important role determining health. Owing Generally Recognised Safe (GRAS) status, widely utilised one alternatives besides conventional antimicrobial treatment against for prevention chronic vaginitis restoration ecosystem. In addition, effectiveness prophylaxis has also well-founded long-term administration. This review aimed highlight beneficial effects derivatives (i.e. surface-active molecules) with anti-biofilm, antioxidant, pathogen-inhibition, immunomodulation activities developing remedies infections. We discuss current challenges implementation use promotion review, we intend provide insights development complementary or alternative medicine probiotic therapy

Recently, have been applied solve or contribute solving some problems, with this being main field application. most referenced studies based on bioremediation contaminated soils recalcitrant pollutants, such as hydrocarbons heavy metals. In case metals, function chelating agents binding capacity. However, mechanism which typically act in an is focused ability reduce surface tension, thus facilitating emulsification solubilization certain pollutants (in-situ biostimulation and/or bioaugmentation). Moreover, despite low toxicity biosurfactants, they can also biocidal at doses, mainly higher concentrations than critical micellar concentration. More recently, using alternative substrates, types organic waste solid-state fermentation, has increased applicability research circular economy context. review, recent publications use applications conventional surfactants summarized analyzed. Surfactants are a group of amphiphilic molecules (i.e., having both hydrophobic and hydrophilic domains) that vital part nearly every contemporary industrial process such as in agriculture, medicine, personal care, food, petroleum. In general surfactants can be derived from (i) petroleum-based sources or (ii) microbial/plant origins. Petroleum-based obvious results petroleum products, which lead to pollution thus pose severe problems the environment leading various ecological damages. Thus, newer techniques have been suggested for deriving surfactant maintaining environmental sustainability. Biosurfactants microbial plant origins offer much added advantages high biodegradability, lesser toxicity, ease raw material availability, easy applicability. they also termed "green surfactants". this regard, review focused on biosurfactants over synthetic produced products along with their potential applications different industries. We provided market aspects future directions considered selections biosurfactants. This would open up new avenues research by overcoming existing bottlenecks field.
