Abstract The global issue of PET bottles lies in their contribution to plastic pollution, as millions are discarded daily, often ending up landfills or oceans. This non-biodegradable waste poses a significant threat wildlife and ecosystems, while also contributing the growing crisis. study investigates acoustic performance panels made laboratory from recycled polyester fibre extracted post-consumer bottles, addressing environmental challenges waste. key objective this research is evaluate sound absorption properties these explore potential for application noise control solutions. was tested across range frequencies. Testing followed standard procedures determining characteristics accordance with ISO 10534-2 using impedance tube method. Results indicate that panel exhibit absorption, particularly mid-frequency an coefficient peaking at 0.95 4000 Hz, making them suitable use spaces such offices, classrooms, auditoriums. However, low-frequency remains limited, near zero frequencies below 80 Hz. In addition properties, offer benefits by reducing minimizing reliance on non-renewable resources commonly used treatments. highlights fiber effective sustainable solution various architectural applications. Further studies recommended long-term durability under different conditions, well cost-effectiveness compared conventional materials.

Concrete use is enhanced daily due to infrastructure development, but it has adverse impacts on the environment. Modern lifestyles have led increased of plastic, and, for households, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastics are used. However, PET non-biodegradable and causes environment marine health. So, there a need minimize amount plastic waste by finding an alternative waste. Our study focuses creating sustainable concrete utilizing PET-based as partial substitution aggregates, aiming this various low-load-bearing construction applications. From our phase analysis study, no effects were found cement formation. We also that up 10 wt.% incorporation leads acceptable compressive strength reduction per ASTM guidelines. To enhance adhesion, was roughened, from FESEM, we effective adhesion into matrix. believe will not only contribute promote eco-friendly material development.

This paper adopts a systems firm-centered perspective on the environmental assessment of recyclable glass and PET soft drink containers. We employ LCA discrete-event simulation modeling for two drinks packaging alternatives in operational terms over entire supply chain period three years. The is based real data collected from large producer its suppliers. research practice contribution twofold: first, it introduces methodological framework companies’ impact under different product operations strategies; secondly, provides holistic materials (PET glass) taking into account specific issues, such as mix recycling reuse options, well activity interdependences stochasticity. results experiments confirm at system level, glass, importance sustainability, to increase number cycles (for particular case, significant improvement, seven reuses) percentage used bottles refilling (80% recovery rate), whereas PET, recycled new (towards 30%).
