In this article, we aim to study how astrocytes control electrophysiological activity during neuronal network formation. We used a combination of spike/burst analysis, classification spike waveforms based on various signal properties and tools from information theory demonstrate modulate the electrical neurons using microelectrode array (MEA) signals. cultured rat primary cortical 60-electrode MEAs with different neuron/astrocyte ratios ranging ‘pure’ cultures co-cultures containing 50% astrocytes. Our results show that desynchronize reduce predictability in signals affect repolarization phase action potentials. work highlights it is crucial go beyond standard MEA analysis assess investigate any dysfunction could potentially result hyperactivity.
