Although it is generally recognized that symptom clusters and quality of life are related, major ambiguity arises from the difficulty in determining their causal relationship. The present study aimed to investigate longitudinal relationships between life. 128 patients with rectal cancer Nanchong City, Sichuan Province who underwent laparoscopic anus-preserving surgery completed 4 follow-up visits, survey time point 2 weeks after (T1), 1 month (T2), 3 months (T3), 6 (T4). We used Anderson Gastrointestinal Cancer Symptom Assessment Scale Colorectal Quality Life Measurement evaluate patient's incidence, severity, at four points respectively. After extracting by symptom, we constructed A four-wave cross-lagged model analyzed relationship Our research results show treated have during surgery, which named sickness cluster, gastrointestinal psychological-sleep cluster Psycho-therapy related clusters. Pearson correlation analysis showed were negatively correlated. path effect coefficient shows impact on stronger than (β = - 0.164 0.713, P<0.05). can significantly predict but this not bidirectional. Only T3 predicted psycho-sleep reverse was also observed. These findings provide evidence decreases levels precede increases severity. There a one-way temporal decrease leads an increase severity improvement overall expected alleviate distress

Immunotherapy has significantly improved the survival rates of lung cancer patients. However, prevalent adverse immune reactions associated with this treatment can detrimentally affect their quality life. Coping strategies play a crucial role throughout process. Consequently, study hypothesised that coping act as mediating factor between symptom clusters and This intended to provide theoretical foundation empirical data support optimisation for patients, thereby enhancing overall consisted cross-sectional survey. Data were collected using Memorial Symptom Assessment Scale, Medical Modes Questionnaire, Quality Life Questionnaire-Lung Cancer 43, self-designed General Information Evaluation Form. The fitted, model was refined maximum likelihood estimation method. Additionally, Bootstrap method employed assess effects. In total, 240 participants completed During immunotherapy, patients predominantly adopted acceptance-resignation strategy, which served contrast, effects confrontation avoidance life not significant. Both strategy negatively impacted life, serving Future research should focus on developing interventions cognitive behaviour improve disease trajectory.

Purpose of review Respiratory symptoms often co-occur as a symptom cluster in lung cancer patients, which can be detrimental to clinical outcomes. This synthesizes recent evidence on respiratory clusters and their management. Recent findings The expanding body patients has grown significantly. These clusters, primarily comprising cough, shortness breath, expectoration, remain prevalent persistent, regardless treatment modalities. Cough is highlighted the sentinel symptom. advancements, including both multimodal single-component non-pharmacological interventions, such Distress Symptom Intervention acupuncture, have shown promise alleviating symptoms. Summary studies significantly advanced our understanding identifying managing patients. Longitudinal tracking could provide valuable insights into progression. achieved by integrating technologies, mobile health applications, potential revolutionize real-time monitoring. Furthermore, biological mechanisms underlying these essential for developing targeted therapies that address more comprehensively.
