PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to compare operative time, effect on the gingiva, glove penetration rate and post-operative complications Hybrid arch bar (HAB) Erich (EAB). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Patients reporting our institution, diagnosed with maxillomandibular fractures indicated for IMF were included in randomized into two groups (Group I bars Group II bars). Operative time minutes, evaluated during placement removal bar. Gingival health before after different encountered every visit. Both compared using t test chi-square tes RESULTS: Of 80 cases studied, 40 group group. had a mean age 30.10 years, while 26.10 statistically significant difference between groups. showed lower gingival index postIMF (0.99 vs. 2.07), required significantly less (44 minutes 74 minutes) no penetrations, unlike group, which 40% rate. Post-operative also fewer loose screws. CONCLUSION: hybrid system can be used as an alternative traditional fixation patients major complications. It provides quicker improving safety operator preserving patient.

Introduction: Snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) are prevalent sleep-related breathing disorders with significant social medical implications. Mandibular advancement devices (MADs) a recognized treatment option for managing snoring mild to moderate OSA; however, their impact on architecture requires further investigation. Objective: This study aimed evaluate the effects of MAD placement total duration, stage distribution, micro-awakenings. Methods: A 12 participants (66.67% male, 33.33% female) underwent polysomnography before 60 days after placement. Sleep duration in different stages frequency micro-awakenings were analyzed. Descriptive inferential statistical analyses conducted using t stutends. Results: After placement, increased, along prolonged 2 3 NREM (p > 0.05). However, number micro-awakenings, particularly those associated respiratory events snoring, also increased significantly < Conclusion: The contributed an increase deeper stages, which may indicate beneficial effect architecture.

Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the bidirectional causal relationship between obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and temporomandibular disorders (TMD). Methods: Using an online pooled dataset of genome-wide association studies (GWAS), a two-sample bi-directional Mendelian randomization (MR) method implemented. Inverse variance weighting used as primary analyses approach, other methods MR Egger, weighted median method, MR-Egger, Simple mode, Weighted mode analysis were supplements evaluate OSA TMD with odds ratios (OR) 95% confidence interval (CI). Furthermore, Cochran Q, MR-PRESSO approaches perform heterogeneity test multiple validity. Results: The general results forward indicated that had significant influence on (OR=1.241, CI: 1.009– 1.526, P=0.041), but no correlation observed in reverse (IVW: OR=0.975, CI=0.918– 1.036, P=0.411). Conclusion: In summary, our research demonstrated hereditary causative TMD, indicating appropriate intervention is required for both prevention treatment TMD. Keywords: analysis, apnea,

Abstract Background Clear aligner therapy has gained popularity as a minimally invasive orthodontic treatment option. However, its impact on the masticatory musculature and stomatognathic system is an area of growing interest, it involves adjustment occlusion tooth movement. This systematic review aims to comprehensively assess synthesise existing evidence regarding influence clear system. Methods An exhaustive search was performed electronic databases that adhered PRISMA guidelines. Clinical studies evaluated patients receiving muscles mastication systems were included. A standardised data extraction form devised for relevant variables. Two reviewers extracted ROB-2 used bias evaluation in selected studies. Results total six met inclusion criteria. The wearing aligners significantly impacted mastication. Muscle activity discomfort showed significant alteration initial days appliance placement. but this observation temporary, with no changes thereafter subsequent follow-up. Bite force reduction also noted. All good methodological quality. Conclusion found aligned may have variable mastication, potential exacerbation symptoms followed by possible improvement. due limited number their heterogeneous nature, further robust research recommended fully understand relationship between muscles.

Published: May 30, 2024

Sleep-related eating disorder (SRED) is a non-REM parasomnia with potentially significant negative effects on general health (dangerous activities during night episodes, obesity, or metabolic syndrome, for example). Although the history of SRED encompasses more than six decades, public awareness and even mental specialists this very limited, phenomenon that hinders development research in field. Therefore, systematic review based PRISMA 2020 guidelines explored available evidence found four electronic databases (PubMed, Cochrane Collaboration, Google Scholar, Clarivate/Web Science). A number 94 primary secondary reports were retrieved, investigating aspects regarding risk factors, epidemiology, clinical data differential diagnosis, structured evaluation, treatment SRED. Based results these reports, Z-drugs, but also certain benzodiazepines, antidepressants, antipsychotics, psychostimulants may trigger onset Psychiatric neurologic disorders have been associated SRED, either as factors comorbid conditions. Cerebral glucose metabolism dysfunctions, neurotransmitter genetic invoked pathogenetic contributors. Structured assessment possible, there dearth instruments dedicated to purpose. Data prevalence exist, good-quality epidemiological studies trials are still missing. In conclusion, future expected address shortcomings exploration by creating conditions better quality larger group research.
