UNSTRUCTURED
There
are
a
myriad
of
obstacles
faced
by
individuals
who
take
medication
for
opioid
use
disorder
(MOUD),
including
high
out-of-pocket
costs,
stigma,
logistical
challenges
associated
with
traveling
to
treatment
facilities,
and
negative
experiences
providers.
The
proliferation
illicit
fentanyl
overdose
risk
underscores
the
urgent
need
broaden
access
lifesaving
pharmacotherapy
disorder.
This
case
report
describes
safe
effective
induction
32-year-old
male
onto
sublingual
buprenorphine
in
virtual
care
setting,
integrated,
counselor-facilitated
psychosocial
delivered
via
smartphone
application
targeting
relapse
prevention.
modality
enabled
this
patient
overcome
two
major
barriers:
limited
evidence-based
given
his
residence
rural
area,
heightened
fentanyl,
potent
synthetic
opioid.
In
addition,
we
describe
tobacco
cessation
virtually
concurrent
OUD
care,
combining
behavioral
skills
training.
Given
disproportionately
rate
co-occurring
mortality
rates,
these
conditions
simultaneously
advances
our
knowledge
potentially
efficacious
approaches
underserved
present
polysubstance
use.
