Abstract The Asteraceae capitulum, particularly a radiate capitulum with differing colors of ray and disc florets, resembles solitary flower probably through adaption to animal pollination. A previous study found that the shape‐color association in Chrysanthemum was due co‐option carotenoid‐cleavage‐dioxygenase gene CCD4a under regulation ray‐floret identity CYC2g, member floral symmetry regulators CYCLOIDEA. Then questions arise: Is such specific ? Or did it originate earlier evolution allies? To answer these questions, we examined 11 species representing four color patterns capitula tribe Anthemideae, which belongs. Comparative examinations carotenoid content, expression CYC2 ‐like CCD genes along floret developments, dual‐luciferase assays showed capitular were strongly correlated accumulation/degeneration. In white‐ray/yellow‐disc species, both CYC2g ray‐specifically expressed can activate ; yellow‐ray/yellow‐disc either lost or repressed by CYC2g. white discs Achillea alpina must be other activating expression. bicolor rays Glebionis coronaria seemed have complex redundant function two paralogs. sum, is evolutionarily conserved underpinning into network arose before divergence tribes Anthemideae Astereae as CCD4 CCD4b occurred at approximately time.

A series of notes on taxonomy, nomenclature, morphology and distributions native species vascular plants in Kyrgyzstan is presented. Anaphalis roseoalba treated as a synonym A. virgata ; Hippolytia herderi H. megacephala are new synonyms senecionis darvasica schugnanica tomentosa Campanula capusii C. lehmanniana . Allium polyphyllum the correct name for related to carolinianum , which occurs Tian‐Shan. Hedysarum ledebourii illegitimate neglectum Iris sect. Cristatae has priority over Juno whereas Isis established generic Phaeiris Veronica tenuissima superfluous replacement V. tetraphylla Stachys nana proposed combination previously known Hypogomphia turkestana The Chaetolimon (Bunge) Lincz. replaced by Hissarolimon two species‐level combinations also provided. Authorship nomenclature clarified or corrected seven names; spelling one name. Lectotypes designated four names. Ten reported country, presence confirmed. Two excluded from flora Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan. Range extensions species. Distributions verified mapped Complete distribution ranges IUCN conservation status austrotschatkalica assessed ‘Critically Endangered' because its populations distantly located severely affected land use development. With these additions corrections, total number plant reaches 4043.
