In this study, I recounted my experience using mantra meditation during a phenomenological study for the purposes of bracketing. The efficacy and purpose bracketing have been debated from Husserl (1931), whose aimed was to achieve objectivity, Heidegger (1962) who advocated immersion researcher, through French school (Merleau-Ponty, 1964) middle ground, by whom seen as process unearth suspend biases better understanding participants’ experiences (Arsel, 2017; Creswell & Creswell, Poth, 2016; Fischer Guzel, 2023). however, propose another approach that expands beyond phenomenology duality objectivity or immersion. bracketing, with aim is inseparable qualitative research. Meditation, form provokes researcher be fully present ensuring are heard interpreted in faithful manner. orientation, goal not rid one’s subjectivity but allow diminished other.
