Abstract Purpose Instagram ranks among the most used social media platforms worldwide. An increasing number of posts are dedicated to specific medical topics, such as sleep medicine. The educational content these is largely unknown. Therefore, a structured analysis linked hashtag “obstructivesleepapnea” was conducted, obstructive apnea (OSA) represents common sleep-related breathing disorder. Methods entered into Instagram’s search field. first post selected and then subdivided visual text for systematic with focus on information OSA. Demographic factors likes, hashtags posting account were also included in analysis. data collection completed N = 150 consecutive posts. Results 37.3% 32.7% addressed In both subgroups, frequently discussed aspects OSA symptoms, comorbidities, therapy (visual content: 50.0%, 39.3, 41.1%, respectively; 42.9%, 44.9%, 24.9%, respectively).
