Introduction Vaccination is essential for preventing infectious diseases such as pneumonia and seasonal viral infections. The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the critical role of vaccination in public health. However, uptake can be influenced by biopsychosocial conditions. Immunocompromised individuals, instance, face restrictions with live vaccines, psychosocial factors like loneliness negatively impact attitudes towards vaccination. This study aims to clarify association between pneumococcal rate among regular patients a rural Japanese community. Method A cross-sectional was conducted at Unnan City Hospital City, area southeastern Shimane Prefecture, Japan. Participants included over 40 who regularly visited general medicine department September 1, 2023, November 31, 2023. Data on rates levels assessed using version three-item University California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Loneliness Scale were collected. Additional data demographics, BMI, renal function, comorbidities extracted from electronic medical records. Statistical analyses performed identify associated rates, including univariate multivariate logistic regression. Results Out 1,024 eligible patients, 647 participated study. higher had significantly lower (22.3% vs. 34.2%, p = 0.001). regression model showed that likelihood (odds ratio (OR) 0.54, 95% CI 0.37-0.78, 0.0011). Age positively (OR 1.08, 1.06-1.11, < 0.001), whereas comorbidity scores (Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI) ≥ 5) frequent healthy eating practices rates. Conclusion demonstrates significant Addressing barriers could enhance uptake. Public health interventions focused reducing enhancing social support are improving diseases. Further research should explore causal mechanisms develop targeted strategies mitigate behaviors.

This review summarizes hikikomori, presents latest methods for identification hikikomori.

Aim Social anxiety disorder (SAD) is a mental that requires early detection and treatment. However, some individuals with SAD avoid face‐to‐face evaluations, which leads to delayed detection. We aim predict based on their communication logs social network data from massively multiplayer online game (MMOG). Method The study included 819 users of Pigg Party, popular MMOG in Japan. Participants completed the Japanese version Liebowitz Anxiety Scale (LSAS‐J) withdrawal scale (hikikomori) questionnaire. scoring ≥60 LSAS‐J were classified as having SAD, while those <60 not (non‐SAD). A total 142,147 users' 613,618 edges Party used input whether participants had or non‐SAD. Graph sample aggregated embeddings (Graph SAGE) was utilized graph neural model. Results Individuals more likely be socially withdrawn physical community (hikikomori), fewer friends, spent less time other virtual houses, showed lower entropy visitation times MMOG. Based data, SAGE model predicted an F1 score 0.717. Conclusion include indicators interpersonal avoidance behaviors, typical SAD; this suggests potential use digital biomarkers for SAD.

Eight countries/areas had 10 or more respondents: Japan (61), South Korea (54), Nepal (48), Iran (40), Thailand (32), India (23), Hong Kong (12), UK (10); remainder placed “others” group (64). Respondents all except felt that seen. Diverse patterns response obtained regarding formulation treatment. Japan, Korea, favored psychosocial while Iran, Nepal, biological factors. Most respondents could be treated by an outpatient visit, others preferred hospitalization. Psychotherapy highly as intervention; also pharmacotherapy highly. Conclusion Despite its limitations exploratory study, we found evidence ‐like exist However, opinions on should formulated vary significantly among countries. We reflects experience is dependent related sociocultural context. Further comparative work, preferably with standardized assessment tools, will help clarify society influence individual experiences practitioner patients.
