Depressive symptoms are a serious health issue that can cause profound, lifelong suffering for people who affected by it. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of sarcopenia, oral frailty, and social frailty on depressive among Chinese participants aged ≥ 60 years old in China. research utilized cross-sectional design used convenience sampling select from Anhui Province, Demographic questionnaire, SARC-F (Strength, Assistance with walking, Rising chair, Climbing stairs, Falls), OFI-8 (Oral Frailty Index-8), HALFT (Help, Participation, Loneliness, Financial, Talk) scale, PHQ-9 (Patient Health Questionnaire-9) were conduct survey. A chi-square test was performed differences between categorical variables, spearman correlation analysis find factors. Four regression models set up factors appropriate adjustment variables. Of 1453 participants, 33.5% had 51.4% 31.5% pre-social 14.5% 32.2% symptoms. Spearman indicated significantly correlated sarcopenia (r = 0.415), 0.282), 0.410). In crude analysis, (OR 0.179, 95%CI 0.141–0.227), 3.946, 3.101–5.021), 4.449, 3.401–5.818), 12.552, 8.833–17.837) associated older adults. After adjusting covariates, 4.301, 3.322–5.569), 3.136, 2.430–4.046), 3.664, 2.775–4.836) 9.488, 6.560-13.723) (P <0.05). significant positively These results provide clinicians reference identifying high-risk adults give public policymakers scientific approach taking targeted interventions. Future should further explore two-way relationship these assess effectiveness different will help improve quality life mental health.

Background/Objectives: This study aimed to determine the association between chronic schizophrenia, extrapyramidal symptoms (EPSs), body composition, nutritional status, and dynapenia/sarcopenia. Methods: Data from 68 patients with schizophrenia were analyzed using Spearman’s rho correlation coefficients, Kruskal–Wallis test, Mann–Whitney U Cramér’s V statistics. Results: Among participants, 32.4% had no loss of muscle mass or function, 39.7% dynapenia, 27.9% sarcopenia. identified five key findings: (1) Bilateral grip strength, skeletal index, walking speed are interrelated, higher negative symptom scores linked slower movement rigidity, particularly in sarcopenia group, indicating that may contribute weakness progression (2) Increasing age is associated a decrease chlorpromazine equivalent dose an increase severity EPSs. (3) Blood urea nitrogen (BUN)/creatinine ratio all risk indicators significantly negatively correlated. (4) Dynapenia groups exhibited significant differences status compared non-penia including reduced mass, lower basal metabolic rate, visceral fat levels. (5) There was Barthel Index (BI) score for activities daily living (ADL) Particularly regard ADL, it seems necessary pay attention partially independent who 60 points more. Conclusions: BUN/creatinine ratio, BI, EPSs, total protein, albumin useful detecting dynapenia/sarcopenia routine psychiatric care.
