Recent evidence indicates that event-related potentials (ERPs) as measured on the electroencephalogram (EEG) are more closely related to transdiagnostic, dimensional measures of psychopathology (TDP) than diagnostic categories. A comprehensive examination correlations between well-studied ERPs and TDP is called for. In this study, we recruited 50 patients with emotional disorders undergoing 14 weeks transdiagnostic group psychotherapy well 37 healthy comparison subjects (HC) matched in age sex. HCs were assessed once three times throughout treatment (N = 172 data sets) a battery consistent framework The Hierarchical Taxonomy Psychopathology (HiTOP). quantified using robust single-trial analysis (RSTA) methods linear regression models implemented EEGLAB toolbox LIMO EEG. We found at several levels HiTOP hierarchy. Among these, reduced P3b was associated general p-factor. error-related negativity correlated strongly worse symptomatology across Internalizing spectrum. Increases correct-related symptoms loading unto Distress subfactor HiTOP. Flanker N2 specific Intrusive Cognitions Traumatic Re-experiencing mismatch maladaptive personality traits lowest Our study highlights advantages RSTA validated constructs within framework. Future studies could utilize machine learning predict from set ERP features subject level.
