Recently, researchers have focused on the use of natural antioxidants to improve semen quality as a key element for successful artificial insemination. In this context, first aim study was determine antioxidant activity and composition (minerals, vitamins, sugars) Opuntia ficus-indica cladode ethanolic extract (ETHEX). A further purpose investigate effect ETHEX supplementation liquid ram extended with skim milk (SM) at 5°C. The studied using free radical 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH•) assay. mineral sugar vitamin contents were determined an inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) HPLC-DAD-RID analytical instruments. As second part, collected from five Boujaâd rams vagina. ejaculates more than 70% motility pooled, extender without (control) or supplemented 1–8% (37°C; 0.8 × 109 sperm/mL). Sperm parameters assessed 8, 24, 48, 72 h. results showed that had higher compared those ascorbic acid butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT). Furthermore, contains considerable amount minerals, sugars. inclusion 1 2% in SM increased sperm motility, viability, membrane integrity decreased abnormality spontaneous catalyzed lipids peroxidation ( p<0.05 ) up addition, diluted level DNA fragmentation control group id="M2">p<0.05 ). conclusion, could be recommended spermatozoa. However, its effects insemination should studied.

Artificial insemination (AI) plays a vital role in animal breeding programs. AI is applied to enhance genetics and facilitate the widespread integration of desirable characteristics with high potential for productivity. However, sheep, this biotechnology not commonly practicable due multi-factorial challenges, resulting inconsistent outcomes unpredictable results. Thoughtful selection semen donors recipients based on genetic merit deeply impacts ovine outcomes. Additionally, endogenous factors such as breed, age, fertility traits, disorders, cervical anatomy ewes contribute success. Extensive research has studied exogenous influences sexual behavior, reproductive health, hormonal regulation, all impacting These include techniques like estrus induction, synchronization, handling methods (fresh/chilled/frozen), (cervical/laparoscopic), well nutritional climatic conditions. This overview literature highlights challenges facing successful proposes strategies best practices improvement. paper will serve guide understanding optimizing success AI.

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of Duragen® and skimmed milk (SM) extenders on quality parameters, bacterial load fertilization ability stored ram semen. A total 50 ejaculates from Sardi rams (n = 5) aged 2.5-3 years, were collected in SM at 15°C. The motilities velocity parameters generated by CASA system then evaluated 0, 8 24 h storage. Afterward, loads sperm extended determined 5 incubation. In addition, ewes 100) 2 have been chosen same herd. selected synchronized inseminated using semen for results revealed that progressive motilities, straight (VSL), straightness (SRT), lateral head displacement (ALH) beat cross frequency (BCF) not affected extender type after storage (p > .05). However, curvilinear (VCL), average path (VAP), linearity (LIN) wobble (WOB) showed higher values compared with < Bacterial observed mainly (183 UFC/mL) (357 only case showing a is when time attains (199 UFC/mL). Concerning fertility, diluted both resulting high fertility rates which reaches 66% 73% SM, respectively, no statistical difference summary, decreased maintained fertility. These findings suggest could be used as alternative ovine artificial insemination (OAI).

Abstract This study investigated the effects of storage conditions on quality chilled ram semen stored at 4°C for 48 h, comparing aerobic and anaerobic conditions. Ejaculates from INRA180 rams were collected under both conditions, with assessments 0‐, 24‐, 48‐h intervals. Various sperm parameters examined, including motility, velocity, viability, morphology, membrane integrity, lipid peroxidation. Results showed that duration significantly impacted quality, leading to a gradual decline 0 24 h h. Notably, after initial progressive motility (PM) integrity (MI) demonstrated distinct responses Anaerobic consistently improved PM MI values compared between also enhanced viability reduced abnormality mark. Total remained stable throughout storage. Velocity (VCL: curvilinear velocity; VSL: straight velocity VAP: average path) exhibited differences 24‐ intervals, resulting in higher VAP VSL values. Moreover, peroxidation increase independent Remarkably, yielded lower levels storage, regardless duration. In conclusion, this highlights proved advantageous particularly
