Recent palm survey work in Costa Rica focusing on planthoppers has resulted the discovery of several new taxa, primarily Cixiidae and Derbidae. Here a species Cyclopoliarus Fennah, C. nigelwatsoni sp. nov., is described from Caño Negro, Limón Province, Rica. The compared with omani, only other Central American Cyclopoliarus. Supplemental molecular data presented for barcoding region (5’ half) cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) gene, 18S rRNA D9 to D10 expansion 28S gene. A phylogeny place relative available taxa.

As part of a review the Auchenorrhyncha (former) Dutch Antilles, new species in genus Microledrida, Microledrida malpaisa sp. nov., is described from Curaçao. The novel taxon differs other colouration and form its male genitalia, especially shape anal tube number spinal processes phallotheca. records Curaçao, record Panama, iNaturalist Costa Rica comprise southernmost genus, which was hitherto not formally recorded south Guatemala Puerto Rico.
