Abstract Susan Goldin‐Meadow is the 2021 Recipient of Rumelhart Prize. Goldin‐Meadow's body research addresses roles gesture in language creation, communication, learning, and cognition. In one major strand her research, has studied gestures children who are not exposed to any structured input, specifically, deaf hearing parents do expose their sign language. These create a highly structured, language‐like system with hands—a homesign . another strand, focused on that people produce along speech. She examined how contribute producing comprehending at moment speaking or signing, learning other concepts skills, may actually constitute change people's thinking.
