Abstract Anomuran crabs of the genus AeglaLeach, 1821 are endemic to temperate and subtropical regions South America commonly found in streams rivers, where they generally restricted healthy environments because sensitive environmental changes. The presents worrying data regarding its conservation, like many Brazilian freshwater species classified as being at some level threat extinction. We inventoried unexplored watersheds, estimated population density Aegla jacutinga Marçal & Teixeira, 2020 type locality, updated information on distribution species, assessed conservation status using IUCN criteria.
