Fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) are widely used in high-radiation environments owing to their high sensitivity, stability, and resistance electromagnetic interference. In this study, pure Ge-doped silica core fibers were fabricated using chemical vapor deposition. Based on these fibers, two temperature sensors, FBG-Si FBG-Ge, developed femtosecond laser direct writing combined with metalized armoring. The sensors exposed gamma radiation, accuracy, refractive index systematically evaluated. Electron paramagnetic resonance radiation-induced loss investigate the effects of radiation fiber materials at atomic micro-scale. results showed that center wavelength (λB) FBGs linearly redshifted increasing under non-stressed conditions. After irradiation, a temperature, λB, further dose. sensor exhibited higher stability smaller errors than FBG-Ge. Both decrease output power after irradiation. performance degradation irradiation is attributed an increase number color centers defects within grating, leading transmission losses. As dose increased, concentration changes gratings. This ultimately resulted redshift λB caused measurement errors.

Lights carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM), also called twisted lights, have been applied in fields of optical manipulation, imaging, quantum communication, and mode-division-multiplexing (MDM) communication systems. Traditional approaches for manipulating lights OAM free space paths such as Q-plates, spiral phase plates (SPPs), spatial light modulators (SLMs) that are usually affected by diffraction effect imperfect alignment between different components, limiting the practical applications lights. Here we design, fabricated, package all-fiber function devices broadband generator, (de)multiplexer, & WDM coupler, 1 × 2 coupler. Base on coupled mode theory phase-matching condition, can be generated detected pre-tapered single fiber (SMF) fusing with multi-mode (MMF). The results show proposed twist large working (at least C band), high purity (above 95%), low insert loss (less than 3 dB). will open a reliable way communications interconnections.

得益于飞秒激光直写技术的穿透式真三维改性加工能力,多种介质内任意三维路径及截面形状的光波导得以实现并得到了重要应用。本文围绕飞秒激光直写光波导的机理及基本类型,综述了三维光波导器件在光通信、集成量子光学、拓扑光子学、天文光子学以及光学传感等领域的应用。从三维光子芯片的应用需求入手,总结了飞秒激光直写技术在低损耗、任意截面、大纵深直写和可重构三维波导制备中面临的挑战,并展望了飞秒激光直写三维光波导的未来发展趋势。

Optical coupling between single core to multi-core optical fibers usually takes place by means of fiber fan-ins / fan-outs, delicate free space optics, or laser inscribed freeform waveguides. In the present work, two-photon polymerization technique is used for first time create a waveguide manifold on top four-core tip as couple light into and from fiber, in fast low-cost fashion. It demonstrated that performance influenced numerical aperture mismatch fabricated coupled Insertion losses below 5 dB are observed when minimized, with further reduction potential, making this approach applicable sensing tweezer applications.
