Introducing the chiral spacers to two-dimensional (2D) lead halide perovskites (LHPs) enables them exhibit circularly polarized photoluminescence (CPPL), which could have applications in chiral-optics and spintronics. Despite that a great deal of effort has been made this field, reported polarization degree CPPL at ambient conditions is still very limited, integration multiple functionalities also remains be explored. Here we report structures, CPPL, piezoelectric energy harvesting properties 2D LHPs, [R-1-(4-bromophenyl)ethylaminium]2PbI4 (R-[BPEA]2PbI4) [S-1-(4-bromophenyl)ethylaminium]2PbI4 (S-[BPEA]2PbI4). Our results show these are direct bandgap semiconductors centered ∼513 nm with maximum up 11.0% room temperature. In addition, unique configurational arrangement found able reduce interlayer π-π interactions consequently result strong electron-phonon coupling. Furthermore, intrinsic chirality both R-[BPEA]2PbI4 S-[BPEA]2PbI4 active, their composite films can applied generate voltages currents ∼0.6 V ∼1.5 μA under periodic impacting strength 2 N, respectively. This work not only reports high but demonstrates behavior for realizing multifunctionalities LHPs.

Abstract Carbon dots (CDs), as emerging carbon nanomaterials, have been regarded promising alternatives for electroluminescent light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) owing to their distinct characteristics, such low toxicity, tuneable photoluminescence, and good photostability. In the last few years, despite remarkable progress achieved in CD‐based LEDs, device performance is still inferior that of well‐developed organic, heavy‐metal‐based QDs, perovskite LEDs. To better exploit LED applications boost performance, this review, a comprehensive overview currently explored CDs presented, focusing on key optical which are closely related structural design from core surface modifications, macroscopic engineering, including embedding matrix or spatial arrangement CDs. The LEDs display lighting based fluorescence, phosphorescence, delayed fluorescence emission also highlighted. Finally, it concluded with discussion regarding challenges plausible prospects field. It hoped review inspires more extensive research new perspective promotes practical multiple directions current future research.

Two chiral binaphthyl polymers (R/S-P1 and R/S-P2) with different dihedral angles of the moiety were chosen as inducers to construct co-assemblies an achiral pyrene-naphthalimide dye (NPy) then acted emitting layer (EML) circularly polarized electroluminescence (CP-EL) devices. The anchored angle R/S-P2 not only exhibited enhanced chirality signal, but also had a strong chirality-inducing effect on NPy in co-assembly (R/S-P2)0.6 -(NPy)0.4 . After annealing at 120 °C, CPL signal (|gem |) ordered helical nano-fibers was amplified 5.6×10-2 , which about 6-fold larger than that (R/S-P1)0.6 gem value due formation through π-π stacking interaction between NPy. This kind EML CP-OLEDs, achieved excellent CP-EL performance (|gEL |=4.8×10-2 ).
