Objective: This case report aims to illustrate the effect of three different Korean medicines on hyperhidrosis scalp following a COVID-19 infection. Methods: The patient, who developed post-COVID-19, was treated with medicine. Symptom improvement evaluated using Hyperhidrosis Disease Severity Scale (HDSS) and Quality Life Index (HidroQoL), which includes patient feedback daily life activities psychosocial factors. Results: HDSS HidroQoL scores both decreased, indicating symptom after herbal medicine treatment. Conclusion: suggests that could provide symptomatic relief for associated long COVID-19. To achieve more definitive validation, additional studies objective measures are necessary.

Abstract Post-COVID syndrome (PCS) describes a persistent complex of symptoms following COVID-19 episode, lasting at least 4 to 12 weeks, depending on the specific criteria used for its definition. It is often associated with moderate severe impairments daily life and represents major burden many people worldwide. However, especially during first two years pandemic, therapeutic diagnostic uncertainties were prominent due novelty disease non-specific definitions that overlooked functional deficits lacked objective assessment. The present work comprehensively examines status PCS as depicted in recent reviews meta-analyses, alongside exploring impairments. We searched database Pubmed meta-analysis evaluating period between May 31, 2022, December 2023. Out 95 studies, 33 selected inclusion our analyses. Furthermore, we extended upon prior research by systematically recording linked identified studies. found fatigue, neurological complaints, exercise intolerance most frequently reported symptoms. In conclusion, over past eighteen months, there has been notable increase quantity quality studies PCS. still remains clear need improvement, particularly regard definition necessary diagnosing this syndrome. Enhancing aspect will render future more comparable precise, thereby advancing understanding

To investigate the recovery trajectories of physical function, activity performance, cognitive and psychological functions, health related quality life, as well potential interaction effects, in individuals with COVID-19 treated an intensive care unit (ICU). This prospective cohort study included patients confirmed infection, ICU. Clinical assessments self-ratings functioning, disability were performed > 1 month 12 months after discharge from hospital. Among 65 (mean age 56.6, SD 11) significant improvements function observed over time, although not reaching population norms. Cognition remained unchanged (MoCA median 27, IQR 4). At 12-month follow-up, limitations (RAND-36) found to be associated dyspnea (mMRC-Dyspnea), mental fatigue (MFI-20), walking endurance (6-minute walk test) (r2 0.509 p < 0.001). Role due was (MFI-20) pain 0.530 Despite functioning this group predominantly younger did reach These results highlight persistent impairments that may necessitate long-term healthcare interventions.

Background Patients hospitalized with COVID‐19 from socioeconomically vulnerable communities are at risk for in‐hospital cardiovascular events. However, the association of socioeconomic vulnerability and outcomes after hospitalization is uncertain. Methods Results American Heart Association Cardiovascular Disease Registry hospitalizations between March 1, 2020, June 30, 2022, linked Medicare fee‐for‐service claims, were analyzed. We used Centers Control Prevention's Social Vulnerability Index to ascertain county‐level Medicare‐Medicaid dual eligibility patient‐level social vulnerability. evaluated a composite myocardial infarction, stroke, heart failure, venous thromboembolism, cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, death, following discharge, using Cox regression models. The study included 8565 patients (mean age 78 years, 50% female, 16% Black, 4% Hispanic, 25% eligible, 34% residing in most counties). counties, eligible patients, more likely be Black or have increased comorbidities. A total 3783 (52%) experienced outcome. found no vulnerable, compared least counties events (hazard ratio [HR], 0.97 [95% CI, 0.87–1.07]). Dual eligibility, nondual was associated (HR, 1.28 1.19–1.37]), which attenuated adjusting comorbidities 0.89–1.04]). Conclusions Among survivors hospitalization, events, explained by County‐level not observed postdischarge Findings suggest targeting public health efforts toward mitigate poor outcomes.

Methods In this cross-sectional study, COVID-19 survivors from throughout British Columbia (BC), Canada, completed a questionnaire post-infection. PCC status was self-reported, HRQOL assessed using the EuroQol 5-dimension 5-level (EQ-5D-5L) instrument. We compared in those current PCC, recovered without history PCC. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a persistent health challenge known as Post-COVID Condition (PCC), characterized by symptoms lasting at least three months after the initial SARS-CoV-2 infection and potentially persisting for several years. While studies on PCC using lipidomics proteomics have been conducted, these methods are costly time-consuming. comprehensive analysis of UV-VIS-NIR-MIR spectroscopy is explored here an alternative rapid cheap diagnosis quantification severity PCC. Blood samples from 65 patients, previously analyzed lipidomic proteomic studies, along with new were examined to develop model that quantifies based solely spectrophotometric data. Significant spectral variability was observed UV-VIS region, particularly between 297 600 nm, correlating strongly patient symptoms. Unsupervised clustering algorithms this region effectively differentiated asymptomatic symptomatic achieving Jaccard similarity score 0.667 when compared clinical symptom classifications. Comparative indicated captures clinically relevant biochemical information. results developed work quantify demonstrated robustness data, underscoring method's potential rapid, non-invasive, cost-effective diagnostic tool. This study highlights strengths spectroscopic techniques, suggesting their suitability widespread application diagnosing monitoring PCC, emphasizes need further refinement integration into healthcare practice, implementation portable devices.
