The Fukushima disaster led to a decline in the wellbeing of those affected. In this cross-sectional study, we assessed relationship between evacuee status and investigated possible variables associated with wellbeing. January 2018, randomly distributed questionnaires 2000 people ages 20 79 who lived municipalities where evacuation orders had been lifted. total number participants was 680. Five types were measured: positive emotion, negative-free life satisfaction general happiness, characteristics, functioning. Irrespective five types, already returned their hometown reported greater sense than did not know whether return. Psychological distress negatively all among evacuees, whereas no significant association psychological wellbeing, except for functioning, observed returned. Among intend return, presence an unemployed member household lower "life happiness" "positive characteristics." By contrast, history hypertension returned, possibly reflecting decreased quality medical facilities respondents' hometowns. To promote affected people, planning regarding lifting should be promptly implemented support people's decisions Furthermore, different policy strategies evacuees returnees would welcome.

Our study included residents cities Minamisoma Soma (10–40 km 35–50 north Daiichi (N° 1) Nuclear Power Station, respectively). We used loss life expectancy (LLE) as an indicator compare between exposure diabetes. also estimated radiation-related countermeasures, including restricted food distribution, decontamination, whole-body counter tests interventions.
