Medical artificial intelligence (AI) is a cross-disciplinary field focused on developing advanced computing and AI technologies to benefit medicine healthcare. Globally, medical has tremendous potential support the United Nations’ sustainable development goals pertaining health well-being. In particular, large language models (LLMs) afford opportunities for positively disrupting AI-related research practice. We present framework LLMs in AI. Our considers interplay between well-being goals, disease lifecycle stages, important emerging role of processes related various stages. As part our framework, we describe LLM multiplex - multimodal, multi-model, multicultural, multi-responsibility considerations discuss how five articles special issue relate this are helping us learn about challenges
