Exposure to maternal mental illness during foetal development may lead altered development, resulting in permanent changes offspring functioning. To assess whether there is an association between prenatal psychiatric disorders and behavioural problems early childhood, using linked health administrative data the Australian Early Development Census from New South Wales, Australia. The sample included all mother-child pairs of children who commenced full-time school 2009 met inclusion criteria (N = 69 165). Univariable logistic regression analysis assessed unadjusted associations categories with indicators problems. Multivariable adjusted interest for a priori selected covariates. Sensitivity analyses adjusting final model primary diagnoses assessing effect modification by child's biological gender. Children exposed period had greater odds being developmentally vulnerable their first year school. anxiety prenatally greatest (adjusted ratio 1.98; 95% CI 1.43-2.69). A statistically significant interaction was found child gender hospital admissions substance use disorders, emotional subdomains, aggression hyperactivity/inattention. problems, independent postnatal exposure. Utilizing a birth cohort of primarily Black, low-income urban adolescents (N = 371), the present study investigated how internal assets might change over time with sex/gender as moderator. Internal (commitment to learning, positive values, social competencies, identity) were assessed at ages 12, 15, and 17 via Developmental Assets Profile. Infant placements into out-of-home care have garnered increased research and societal attention, yet the long-term outcomes of this vulnerable group are virtually unknown. This study aims to examine association between infant placement criminal offences across life course, contrasting with general population peers children placed at later developmental periods. The includes 622,940 individuals born in Sweden 1975 1981, among whom around 0.2 % (n = 1524) were taken during infancy (<12 months). Utilizing Swedish longitudinal population-based register data, sex-stratified hurdle regression analyses, adjusted for individual family background characteristics, conducted investigate risk rates ages 15–38. Infants exhibited higher risks any offence compared (men: RR 1.32, p < 0.001, women 1.47, 0.001), but lower ages. Incidence-adjusted also infants their IRR 2.54, women: 2.77, differences other groups being less pronounced. is associated an activity over course.
