Purpose This paper aims to examine the longitudinal relationships between intensity of remote work (IRW) and job performance (JP) with mediation effect work–life balance (WLB) moderation by overload (WO). Design/methodology/approach A three-wave survey, covering pre-pandemic period, pandemic itself post-pandemic was conducted among 291 employees. The authors applied linear regression analysis a moderated cross-lagged structural equation model using Mplus 8. Findings results show that IRW WLB JP are negative in short term; yet over time, employees able adapt benefit from flexibility offered (RW). can contribute better long run. Furthermore, plays moderating role long-term relationship RW JP. There is second-stage on this WO.
