BTB and CNC homologous (BACH) proteins, including BACH1 BACH2, are transcription factors that widely expressed in human tissues. BACH proteins form heterodimers with small musculoaponeurotic fibrosarcoma (MAF) to suppress the of target genes. Furthermore, promotes regulate physiological processes, such as differentiation B cells T cells, mitochondrial function, heme homeostasis well pathogenesis related inflammation, oxidative-stress damage caused by drugs, toxicants, or infections; autoimmunity disorders; cancer angiogenesis, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, chemotherapy resistance, progression, metabolism. In this review, we discuss function digestive system, liver, gallbladder, esophagus, stomach, large intestines, pancreas. directly genes indirectly downstream molecules promote inhibit biological phenomena tumor transition. also regulated miRNAs, LncRNAs, labile iron, positive negative feedback. Additionally, summarize a list regulators targeting these proteins. Our review provides reference for future studies on targeted drugs diseases.
