Abstract The increasing integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare, particularly vascular and interventional radiology (VIR), has opened avenues for enhanced efficiency precision. This narrative review delves into the potential applications large language models (LLMs) VIR, with a focus on Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer (ChatGPT) similar models. LLMs, designed natural processing, exhibit promising capabilities clinical decision-making, workflow optimization, education, patient-centered care. discussion highlights LLMs' ability to analyze extensive medical literature, aiding radiologists making informed decisions. Moreover, their role improving workflow, automating report generation, intelligent patient scheduling is explored. article also examines impact VIR presenting them as valuable tools trainees. Additionally, LLMs education processes examined, highlighting enhance care through simplified accurate information dissemination. Despite these potentials, this paper discusses challenges ethical considerations, including AI over-reliance, misinformation, biases. scarcity comprehensive datasets need ongoing monitoring interdisciplinary collaboration are emphasized. Advocating balanced approach, combination computer vision addresses inherently visual nature VIR. Overall, while widespread implementation may be premature, improve various aspects discipline undeniable. Summary Introduction Interventional radiology procedures and endoscopies are performed commonly worldwide, often necessitating pharmacological sedation to optimise patient comfort. It is unclear what extent non‐anaesthetists should provide procedural sedation. Methods We studied adult patients who previously lived independently underwent a non‐ambulatory interventional or gastroenterology procedure under anaesthetist‐directed non‐anaesthetist‐directed at large healthcare network. The primary outcomes were postprocedural adverse discharge nursing home duration of hospital stay. Results Among 22,868 included, 15,168 (66.3%) 7700 (33.7%) sedation, respectively.
