Introduction The diagnosis of Sjögren’s disease (SjD) in patients without autoantibodies against Ro/SSA is a major challenge. We aimed to identify novel SjD that may facilitate the diagnostic procedure for negative SjD. Methods IgG and IgA autoantibody reactivity 94 potential candidate autoantigens SjD, selected from discovery screen 1,629 human antigens coupled Luminex beads prior knowledge about biological relevance, were examined serum (n=347) using ELISA technology. Healthy (HC, n=118) non-Sjögren’s sicca syndrome (NSS, n=44) individuals served as controls. To assess specificity, also measured with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA, n=50), Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE, n=49), Sclerosis (SSc, n=37). The continuous and real-time monitoring of physiological indicators is essential for early disease detection, prevention, clinical diagnosis. In response to the growing demand precise parameter assessment, this study presents a flexible, organic electrochemical transistor (OECT)-based multi-ion sensing system designed monitor key electrolyte concentrations—sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), calcium (Ca2+)—in human biofluids. features highly adaptable sensor array with detection range tailored conditions, ensuring high selectivity stability in complex biological environments. Our demonstrated sensitivity exceeding 1 mA/decade. To enhance measurement accuracy mitigate cross-interference among ions, we integrate advanced machine learning algorithms, which optimize signal processing significantly improve system’s reliability. Additionally, have developed fully integrated hardware–software platform comprising customized acquisition circuitry dedicated data analysis software, specifically OECT-based applications. This comprehensive framework not only refines ion but also paves way broader translation OECT technology. proposed holds great promise point-of-care diagnostics, offering potential paradigm shift non-invasive, on-demand health assessment.

Abstract Radiation induced structural damage of salivary gland including reducing acinar cell and fibrosis. These changes result in hypofunction which has a significant impact on the quality life head neck cancer patients who treated with radiotherapy. Nevertheless, no preventive method been found. Metformin, diabetes drug, recently attracted considerable attention because it can cause tissue regeneration by anti‐inflammatory action influencing stem cells. This study examined effects metformin caused radiation therapy. Cultured human parotid epithelial cells are irradiated 15 Gy 4MV X‐rays. The analysis DNA damage, inflammatory markers proliferation, is conducted to confirm effect metformin. Similarly, an vivo mouse model established. Histologic functional analyses, such as flow rate lag time, performed. vitro experiment revealed irradiation increased NF‐кB, IL‐6, apoptosis reduced proliferation. treatment decreased radiation‐induced inflammation, also shows same results. group taking after preserved parenchyma compared only group, results comparable normal group. that gland. Tobacco chewing and smoking are major risk factors for oral cancer, with Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC), comprising approximately 90% of cases, especially in South-Central Asia. This study examines the early diagnostic value salivary Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) Receptor (EGFR) OSCC long-term chewers tobacco. assessed EGF EGFR concentrations by Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), three groups: Healthy Controls (HC, n = 41), Chewers a 10-years history tobacco use (TC, newly diagnosed patients (with more than 10 years) no prior neoplasms or anticancer treatment (OSCC, 19). All participants were over age 35. Salivary levels significantly reduced, while elevated (TC) compared to healthy controls (HC), significant difference observed between TC groups. Notably, EGF: ratio demonstrated better performance alone.
