Model-based System Engineering (MBSE) of the Internet Things (IoT) literature is broad, and analysis this enables identification themes potential future study topics that will influence system development. This paper reports on bibliometric MBSE IoT. It considers conference journal publication trends in state-of-the-art to identify emerging research from standpoint trans/multi-disciplinary scholarship technology. We used Elsevier's Scopus database find relevant publications January 2018 December 2022. Using citation ranking other factors (e.g., venues), we selected 110 articles then analyzed them using BibExcel VOSviewer software tools. With a modest decline 2021, shows an overall increase during time period. A thematic abstracts revealed strong focus introduction reference architectures integration with business management methodologies like Agile BPMN 2.0. Model-driven engineering machine learning techniques are essential among enablers for realization complex heterogeneous IoT systems realm Industry 4.0. highlight these findings better understand meet enduring challenge scaling across diverse sectors health, manufacturing, transportation.
