Diabetes mellitus has become a huge global public health and economic issue. The shortcomings of current medicines, as well their serious side effects, prompted focused quest for natural medicinal agents. In Ethiopia, the leaf Discopodium penninervum Hoschst been utilized in traditional system to treat diabetes. goal this study was confirm anti-diabetic, anti-dyslipidemia, anti-oxidant activity both vitro vivo.In normoglycemic, glucose-loaded, streptozotocin-induced diabetic mouse models, blood glucose-lowering effects extract solvent fractions were tested. weight lipid profile mice assessed after treatment with 14 days. DPPH test used assess antioxidant plant extract. In normoglycemic model glucose loaded test, demonstrated significant decrease (34.1%, p<0.001) 44.5%, p<0.001, respectively, when compared normal control. When control group, significantly (p<0.001) reduced levels on 14th day model. addition, serum TC, STG, TG, LDL, VLDL (p<0.001). IC50 values standard medication (ascorbic acid) 4.1g/mL 10.23g/mL, respectively. The hydro-alcoholic leaves have effect, which justify ethnobotanical use, can therefore be good insight new anti-diabetic source call additional studies.

Background: Diabetes mellitus remains a global health challenge, demanding innovative therapeutic strategies. Herbal remedies have garnered attention for their potential in diabetes management, and recent advancements nanotechnology enabled the development of herbal nanoformulations with enhanced efficacy bioavailability. Objective: This review aimed to comprehensively analyze mechanisms, formulations, clinical impact managing mellitus. Method: A systematic literature search was conducted identify relevant studies exploring mechanisms action, various outcomes management. Result: exert anti-diabetic effects through multiple including bioavailability, improved tissue targeting, potentiation insulin signaling pathways. Various ingredients, such as bitter melon, fenugreek, Gymnema sylvestre, been encapsulated into nanocarriers, like liposomes, polymeric nanoparticles, solid lipid enhance potential. Clinical demonstrated promising results, showing improvements glycemic control, profile, antioxidant status minimal adverse effects. Conclusion: represent avenue management mellitus, offering compared conventional preparations. Further research is warranted optimize formulation strategies, elucidate long-term safety profiles, explore synergistic combination therapies

Diabetes mellitus is a worldwide epidemic causes numerous health problems including nephropathy and depression which are caused by oxygen radicals. We investigated the antioxidative effects of agomelatine or vildagliptin on streptozotocin-induced diabetic in rats.50 male albino rats were distributed into five groups, (n = 10/ group): normal control, A single intraperitoneal injection streptozotocin was given to other four groups induce diabetes at dose 60 mg/kg body weight. After induction, one chosen as positive control.Other treated with either (10 mg/kg) and/or (20 mg/kg/day) daily for 4 weeks. We used different biochemical parameters (blood glucose level, insulin levels, oxidative stress markers) well histological analysis kidney tissues experimental animals.Statistical evaluation performed Oneway ANOVA comparison those followed Duncan's post hoc test multiple group comparison.Diabetes induced via pathway this confirmed increased serum levels urea, uric acid creatinine decrease total antioxidant Capacity (TAC) compared control rats. Also, there significant increase renal malondialdehyde (MDA) nitric oxide (NO); glutathione (GSH) superoxide dismutase (SOD) group.Administration both alleviated previous indices changes better improvement (vildagliptin+agomelatine) that treatment alone. Conclusion: Combination could ameliorate through inhibition stress.
