Algae and derivatives are currently being recognized for their potential characteristics as attributes in aquafeeds. These include high protein content, optimum balance of essential amino acids fatty acids, trace minerals, vitamins, relatively low cost, which make them promising alternatives the diets farmed fish shrimp. The inclusion algae bioactive compounds provides natural sources growth promoters immunostimulants, improve immune system response mitigate disease outbreaks pathogen infections. However, too much substitution would result poor development feed utilization. Therefore, this chapter discusses forms types algae, use feed, pros cons aid achieving aquaculture sustainability scope practical implementation.
