Purpose The rapid rise in smartphone use has led to declining sleep quality. Excessive internet been linked negative impacts on physical and mental health, individual personality traits (PT) may contribute addiction mitigate its harmful effects. This study aims to: (1) examine whether PT mediate the relationship between quality, (2) investigate quality varies across different gender age groups. Methods There were 269 participants dataset. daily averages for duration, distraction, extracted from usage data acquired through a dedicated application. Structural equation modeling was employed mediating role of Results indicated that partially mediated relationship, with significant indirect impact Age differences observed, showing distinct patterns younger older participants, while no emerged. Conclusions found excessive use, coupled low indicators, leads poor Positive improve outcomes, influencing sleep. Our findings support existing concerns about technology overuse highlight need targeted interventions promote more beneficial design patterns.

Background: More Indians have access to mobile phones than toilets. Concerns been raised for addictive potential of Internet. There are few Indian studies on the prevalence Internet addiction (IA) among adolescents. The present study aimed assess IA adolescents and its association with sociodemographic variables in a cantonment school. Methodology: It was cross-sectional students age group 10–19 years Western Maharashtra. Sociodemographic data were collected using self-administered questionnaire. Young's test used diagnose IA. Statistical analysis done Chi-square odds ratio. Results: A total 1325 participated study. Among these, 2.5% had scores above 69 (addicted). those > 69, 85% boys, average daily use 5.3 h last 1 year. Use academics, online gaming, social media most common reasons current sample. Risk factors included watching pornography, due loneliness or boredom, café, permanent login status, accessing 4 daily, consumption tobacco alcohol by any parents. possible protective only restricting < 2 h, having playground nearby playing there.
