With the global population aging rapidly, understanding factors influencing health outcomes in older adults is crucial. This study explores longitudinal causal relationship between self-perceptions of and frailty examines whether subjective cognitive decline mediated associations. The Brief-Aging Perceptions Questionnaire(B-APQ), Frailty Phenotype Assessment Scale, Subjective Cognitive Decline Questionnaire were used to survey 619 community-dwelling Xinxiang, Henan, China, from March October 2021 2023, respectively. A cross-lagged model was employed analyze potential mediating roles decline, controlling for confounders including age, gender, income, employment status, education. (1) analysis revealed a bidirectional (P < 0.001), with effect T1 on T2 (β = 0.109, SE 0.038, P 0.01) reverse 0.129, 0.041, 0.01). Further comparisons path coefficients indicated that sizes two paths showed no statistical difference (χ2 0.119, > 0.05). (2) mediation had an indirect through (indirect 0.011). Concurrently, also indirectly influenced via 0.010), all effects demonstrating significance demonstrates frailty, identified as mechanism. These findings provide important guidance future efforts aimed at reducing rates among community settings.

Objectives This study aimed to investigate the relationship between changes in physical activity and frailty among middle-aged older adults Korea, using panel data from 2006–2022 Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging (KLoSA). Design Retrospective observational study. Setting For this longitudinal study, were sourced KLoSA dataset. Participants We analysed 5594 participants (2855 males 2739 females) extracted collected 2006 2022. Primary secondary outcome measures The index was calculated based on 6 clinical domains comprising 34 age-related health deficits. Changes categorised as persistently inactive, decreased, increased or active. Logistic regression analysis generalised estimating equations conducted assess association frailty. Results active group (OR=0.45, 95% CI: 0.40 0.50) showed a lower likelihood than did inactive group. In that their activity, OR 0.57 (95% 0.52 0.63), higher ORs observed for current smokers those residing rural areas. Conclusions demonstrated persistent is associated with Korea. Therefore, participation one important ways prevent

ABSTRACT Background Frailty is a chronic condition characterised by the progressive decline of multiple physiological functions. There critical need to investigate neuroimaging findings in nondemented frail individuals better understand underlying mechanisms and implications frailty on brain health. This paper aimed at reviewing studies assessing changes neuropsychological basis frailty. Methods A systematic review was conducted focusing modalities frailty, including MRI, fMRI, DTI PET. The based PRISMA instructions two‐step screening process. evaluating individuals, regardless publication time or participant age, were included. Data extracted from included studies, quality as well risk bias assessed. Results Out 1604 screened, 22 eligible these, 10 had good quality, while others fair according Newcastle Ottawa scale (NOS). Of these 18 used Fried criteria modified version it diagnose Edmonton score (EFS), Rockwood Mitnitski index (FI) implemented remaining studies. MRI indicated significant differences structure between robust an increased number size white matter hyperintensities, reduced grey volume, higher cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) volume cerebral microbleeds (CMBs) participants compared ones. showed no difference at‐risk groups regarding total intracranial (TIV). CMBs associated with prefrailty status its severity. fMRI decreased intranetwork mean functional connectivity (FC) individuals. lower fractional anisotropy (FA), axial diffusivity ( AD ) radial (RD) group. PET scan study that cortical beta‐amyloid level not FI, but accumulation anterior posterior putamen precuneus region significantly correlated Conclusion reveals structures hyperintensities volume. These suggest vascular atrophy may contribute cognitive impairment dementia future.

Background/Objective: Frailty is a growing public health challenge in Japan’s rapidly aging population, where 28.8% are aged ≥ 65. While multicomponent interventions have shown potential preventing frailty, traditional face-to-face programs face accessibility challenges. This study evaluated the feasibility and short-term changes of an online intervention on frailty-related factors among community-dwelling older adults. Methods: In this single-arm study, 132 participants (mean age 75.7; standard deviation 4.8 years, 65.2% women) completed six-week combining exercise, nutrition education, cognitive activities, Coimagination Method to foster social connections, meeting weekly for 75 min sessions groups up 10 participants. Results: The demonstrated with 96.4% retention rate 94.0% average participation rate. no significant were observed physical activity levels, autonomic nervous system indicators, or function, carotenoid scores hemoglobin concentration improved significantly, more pronounced improvements women than men. Conclusions: demonstrates high adults suggests benefits nutritional status markers, particularly women. These findings indicate promising accessible approach frailty prevention, though randomized controlled trials longer periods direct assessments required establish effectiveness conclusively. Objectives Subjective cognitive decline (SCD) as a stage between healthy cognition and early neurocognitive disorders, has been proposed to be helpful in the diagnosis of prodromal disorders. To investigate prevalence SCD related risk factors on prevalence. Methods A cross-sectional study involving 1,120 elderly subjects residing Baotou, China. From June 2021 2023, data were gathered by research assistants with training utilizing standardized questionnaires. The following evaluated: subjective decline, physical activity levels, past medical history, demographics, instrumental activities daily living, function. Risk used chi-square tests multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results was 43.8%. Permanent residence, marital status, BMI, dietary habits, average sleep duration per night, smoking, diabetes, coronary heart disease, visual impairment significantly associated ( p < 0 0.05). Multivariable analysis showed obesity, vegetarian-based, smoking for long time, diabetes impairment, no spouse, night <6 h independent SCD. Based gender analysis, difference drinking, hypertension statistically significant 0.001). Conclusion high among elder adults. We discovered differences or men women based their sex. This provides more theoretical basis prevention screening diseases population.

Abstract Purpose This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence and predictors of frailty association between neurocognitive impairments among Chinese survivors childhood cancer. Methods A total 185 cancer were recruited from a long-term follow-up clinic in Hong Kong (response rate: 94.4%; 48.1% female; mean age 28.9 years, standard deviation = 6.7 years). Frailty was assessed using Fried criteria. Neurocognitive outcomes evaluated performance-based test. Multivariable logistic regression used identify frailty. generalized linear models explore associations cognitive outcomes. Results The proportions with pre-frailty 22.7% 27.0%, respectively. “Frail” more likely be diagnosed at younger (odds ratio [OR] 0.93, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.87–0.99, P 0.041) have coexisting chronic health conditions (OR 4.63, CI: 1.68–12.80, 0.003) than “non-frail” “pre-frail” survivors. Survivors exhibited worse attention detectability (unstandardized point estimate [Est] 4.57, error [SE] 1.69, 0.007), omissions (Est 3.68, SE 1.15, 0.001), flexibility 8.08, 3.08, 0.009) Conclusions More one fifth participating identified as phenotypically frail. associated performance executive function. Implications for Cancer Survivors: findings highlight needs regular monitoring early interventions that can modify aging pathway continuum, mitigate improve psychosocial during survivorship.
